Museum Adventure Pass Program
I’m one of those people who reads everything from cover to cover, especially when it comes to mailings from our schools or library. Last summer I read the library newsletter and uncovered a gem of a program that we’ve used quite a bit. The Museum Adventure Pass Program presented by Macy’s provides discounted or free admission to 17 different Chicago area cultural destinations.
From the Morton Arboretum to the Bronzeville Children’s Museum to the Lake County Discovery Museum, the program offers a nice mix of locations and price points. We’re regular users of the Morton Arboretum pass. Our girls adore the children’s garden, which is one of the best I’ve ever visited.
Some of the locations would not be on our list normally, but due to the Museum Adventure Pass, we’ll consider visiting. We have friends who live in Geneva, so next time we’re out there we might visit the St. Charles Heritage Museum. It’s all close together and without the Museum Adventure Pass, we might not have thought about going to the St. Charles Heritage Museum.
All you need is a library card to take advantage of the discounts. You go into your library and checkout a pass. It’s just like checking out a book, only you receive a printed pass. You hand the pass to the museum staff, so you don’t even have to worry about returning it to the library.
This is a good program that I’ve shared with as many people as possible. It’s great that corporate sponsors like Macy’s are still stepping up to offer these types of programs during these tight times. Now, it’s your job to go out and enjoy the family fun available through the Museum Adventure Program presented by Macy’s.
This is an original post of The Chicago Moms. The author, Shari Schmidt, received nothing from Macy’s for writing about the Museum Adventure Program. She just likes to save money, visit new places, and share good things with everyone. You can find Shari at Two Times the Fun. Photo courtesy of Stock Exchange.

Oh.. I love this program as well! I have taken my daughter to Adler and Navy Pier Children’s Museum. In addition if you have Bank Of America card, every first weekend of the month gets you free entry in Shedd Aquarium… needless to say, you know where to find me on that weekend!
This is the post of my summer finds:
