Some day we’re going to want to retire and our daughters are going to want to go to college, so I’m always on the lookout for a good deal. I don’t remember how it started coming to my inbox, but I’ve been getting an email from FamilyFinds Chicago that is worth sharing. The tag line is “Deals You Love. Experiences You’ll Remember.”
Unlike other daily deal emails that come into your mailbox, these are all about families. In recent days there have been deals for shoes, kid-friendly restaurants, and learning software. In a nod just to moms, there was a daily deal offering spa services. Based upon the emails I’ve been receiving, they have a good selection of deals for parents of all ages.
Some deals are local, while others are national. Recently we took advantage of a national deal to buy Justin Bieber-inspired silly bandz. Shortly after I made the purchase, the code arrived in my account. I was able to immediately purchase the silly bandz, which arrived in my mailbox as promised.
There was also a great deal for the Magic Tree bookstore in Oak Park. I shared this one with my Facebook friends and via Twitter. It was a nice opportunity to mix my desire to support local businesses with my interest in finding a good deal.
The people behind FamilyFinds are parents, so they know what families need. Here’s how they describe themselves:
So, who are these FamilyFinds folks anyway? * We’re a bunch of moms and dads who also happen to be veteran Internet entrepreneurs. We believe that merchants are willing to offer great deals to families who are open-minded to trying new products and services. You save, they get new customers – everyone wins!
Each day, we’ll send you one email with awesome (50-90% off) local deals that your family might enjoy in Chicago. Plus, we’ll send you other great deals we’ve found near you and provide tips for great nearby family-oriented events, ideas and activities.
As with all the deal-of-the-day emails, sometimes the deal fits and sometimes it doesn’t. In the end, it’s worth checking out, though, to see what you might be able to save.
Disclosure: I don’t have any connection to anyone at FamilyFinds. I just like to share a good deal when I find it.
