IMG_5673Summer in #Chicago is quick and furious. As soon as the temperatures rise above 50 degrees the entire city scrambles into fun mode. The outdoor cafe tables and umbrellas coming out is the first indication that all have survived the brutal winter and it is time to enjoy the beautiful city. The next sign is the enrollment listings for Chicago area summer camps and programs!

The British Schools celebrated May Water Safety Month with The Chicago Moms by sharing vital tips on staying safe in area water during the warmer months. Having children in swimming class assures that they will learn to behave safely when there is water around. Education teaches children to throw a life preserver and call 911 in the event of an emergency. Also, learning to insist that those who will be around your children this summer know these safety tips is highly recommended. Babysitters and nannies should always be well versed on what to do in the event of a water incident. It is also encouraged that no one under 18 be supervising young ones in pool areas.

Take the ‘Safe Swimmer Pledge‘ and peruse the available lessons at British Schools. Lessons are offered from 3 years old to senior citizens. Adult beginner classes, and Mommy and Me style lessons happen all year round. Visit British Swim Schools for more information.

disclosure: This not a sponsored post. The Chicago Moms did receive lessons at no cost to review services. Opinions are my own.
